In the Dimension Other PropertyManager, you can specify the display of dimensions.
To open this PropertyManager:
Select one or more dimensions, then click Other in the Dimension PropertyManager.
If you select multiple dimensions, only the properties that apply to all the selected dimensions are available.
Override Units
Overrides the document's units defined in Document Properties - Units. Specify the unit type for the selected dimension.
The available options depend on the type of dimensions that you selected. For example, an
Angular Unit can be
Degrees,
Deg/Min,
Deg/Min/Sec, or
Radians.

The mm suffix was appended to the dimension text manually. |
Decimal
Rounding method |
Use document method |
Uses decimal rounding method specified in Decimal rounding in Document Properties - Units. |
|
Round half away from zero |
Rounding method where 5 rounds the previous digit up. For example, 46.15 at one decimal place becomes 46.2. |
|
Round half towards zero |
Rounding method where 5 keeps the previous digit unchanged. For example, 46.15 at one decimal place becomes 46.1. |
|
Round half to even |
Rounding method where 5 is the removed digit. When the previous digit is even, the digit remains unchanged. For
example, 46.25 at one decimal place becomes 46.2. When the
previous digit is odd, the digit is rounded up to the next even
number. This method is also referred to as Statistician's
Rounding. For example, 46.15 at one decimal place becomes
46.2. |
|
Truncate without rounding |
Method that removes digits without rounding. For example, 46.19 at one decimal place becomes 46.1. |
Fractions
|
Denominator |
Displays the dimension as a fraction with the denominator value, if possible. |
|
Round to nearest fraction |
Rounds the dimension and displays the dimension as a fraction with the denominator value. |

- Select Use dimension size to set the size of the tolerance font using the current font size in the dimension where the tolerance is displayed.
To select Use dimension size, clear Use document size.
- Select Font scale to set the size of the tolerance font as a scale factor of the current dimension where the tolerance is displayed.
- Select Font height to set the size of the tolerance font as a fixed height, regardless of the dimension where the tolerance is displayed.
|
Fit tolerance font size (For Fit tolerance types only.) |
Select Use dimension size to set the size of the tolerance font using the current font size in the dimension where the tolerance is displayed. Clear Use dimension size to specify Font scale or Font height. |
Options
Read only |
|
Driven |
Specifies that the dimension is driven by other dimensions and conditions, and cannot be changed. |
Routing
Available for SOLIDWORKS Routing. See SOLIDWORKS Routing Help for more information.
Use centerline dimension |
Calculates the distance from the centerline. |
Include covering thickness |
- When selected, calculates the offset distance from the outer surface of the covering.
- When cleared, calculates the distance from the outer surface of the pipe. The covering thickness is ignored.
|
Layer
In drawings with named layers, select a layer for the selected dimension.
