- Saving a Document to the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform
When you save a document to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, you can specify options about where to save it.
- Save SOLIDWORKS Documents as Previous Versions
Beginning with SOLIDWORKS 2024, you can save SOLIDWORKS parts, assemblies, and drawings created or saved in the latest version of SOLIDWORKS as fully functional documents in a previous version of SOLIDWORKS. You can save documents back to the previous two releases. Pack and Go also supports this functionality.
- Save to This PC
You can use the Save to This PC
command to save models to your local disk.
- Save As New Dialog Box
In the Save As New dialog box, you specify options for files to save with new names to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
- Evaluating Files with the File Preparation Assistant Tool
You can use File Preparation Assistant to evaluate files for common issues such as duplicate file names and missing file or configuration references before saving the files to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
- Merging Duplicate Files
You can merge duplicate files in models before saving the models to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to prevent potential issues.
- Create Document Group
You can save all open files in SOLIDWORKS as a single document group. This lets you open all the files saved in that group at once.
- Saving Multiple SOLIDWORKS Files to the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform
You can upload and save multiple folders containing SOLIDWORKS files to a collaborative space using the Batch Save to 3DEXPERIENCE add-in.
- Saving Data Using the Batch Tool
You can use the Batch Import tool to save existing SOLIDWORKS data to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. It is a command-line tool that saves the content of a directory, a single file, or single assembly structure to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
- Save All
Saves all the open files that have been modified since they were last saved.
- Saving Modified Documents
When saving or closing an assembly or other document that includes modified documents, or closing the application with one or more modified documents open, you can save modifications to multiple open documents in the Save Modified Documents dialog box.
- Save and Auto Save Progress
When you save files to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, the software shows messages to indicate the software is saving your files.
- Autonaming
Autonaming generates unique Titles for new or existing SOLIDWORKS parts, assemblies, and drawings when you save them to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. Autonaming does not change the original file names. The system administrator activates autonaming on the server side.
- Set Drawing Title from First Model View
When saving a drawing to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, SOLIDWORKS automatically assigns the drawing title based on the first referenced model view.
