Updating File Locations from Bookmarks

If the content changes in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform after you have added the bookmark to your File Locations, you can update the local copy of the content.

During each online session, SOLIDWORKS checks for bookmark updates. If any updates exist, the local copy of your content is updated automatically.

To update file locations from bookmarks manually:

  1. Click Tools > Options > System Options > File Locations.
  2. In the dialog box, under Show folders for, select an item from the menu for which you have bookmarked a folder on the platform.
  3. Click Update to open the Update File Locations from Bookmarks dialog box.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • Click Check All to query which bookmarks have been updated since the last time you updated your local content. Under the Status column, changed bookmarks appear as Out of date.
    • Click Update to synchronize the local content with the modified content in the bookmark. While the file locations are updating, you can monitor the update status and add more file locations to be updated. The update runs in the background, allowing you to continue working in SOLIDWORKS.
Select all Out of date file locations to update multiple locations at once.
    • Click Purge to delete the local copy of the bookmarked content. You can select multiple file locations to purge them at once. Purge does not remove the bookmark from the File Locations dialog box. It only removes the local downloaded content.
After purging the data, you can click Update again to restore the content you purged.
    • Click Cancel to stop the current update. Cancel removes all queued updates and restores canceled locations to their previous status and checked time.
