Creating a Shared Toolbox from Standalone To create a multi-user environment from existing standalone installations: Determine who has used SOLIDWORKS Toolbox most extensively. Move the entire SOLIDWORKS Toolbox folder (for example, C:\SOLIDWORKS Data) from that person's computer to a location on a Windows server system. Share the new Toolbox folder: Apply the Read-only Windows general attribute to all part files in the Browser folder, which is located directly under the Toolbox folder. From the Windows folder security properties, assign Full Control to the Toolbox folder for all Toolbox users. In SOLIDWORKS, click Options (Standard toolbar). On the System Options tab, click Hole Wizard/Toolbox. For Hole Wizard and Toolbox folder, type or browse to the shared Toolbox folder (for example, \\server\SOLIDWORKS Data). Specify a UNC path (recommended). Click Configure and configure Toolbox as needed. Click OK to close the System Options - Hole Wizard/Toolbox dialog box. Migrate users to the shared Toolbox.
