Working with Drawings and CAD Files When working with documents in SOLIDWORKS Inspection, you can compare and align drawings, compare CAD files, insert notes, and use grids. Most of these tools are on the Home and Document ribbons. Contents Comparing Drawings If you receive a revised drawing for a previously-created inspection project, you can compare the new drawing to the existing SOLIDWORKS Inspection project. Aligning Drawings If you compare two different-sized drawings, they might not align correctly. To align drawings correctly, you can specify the lower-left and the upper-right alignment points of the drawings. Replacing Drawings If you receive a revised drawing for a previously-created inspection project, you can replace the existing drawing in the project. Then you can capture the incremental changes between the drawings and export the project to a new ballooned PDF and inspection report. Comparing CAD Files If you receive a revised CAD file for a previously-created inspection project, you can compare the new file to the one in an existing SOLIDWORKS Inspection project. Notes You can insert, edit, and remove notes in drawings so you can reference information. Grids You can extract drawing zone locations from a drawing using grids. You can modify grids and zoom in to an area of the drawing based on the grid. Saving Drawings as PDF Files You can save a ballooned drawing as a PDF file. Parent topicSOLIDWORKS Inspection Standalone
