Access to Help Lists ways to access help for the SOLIDWORKS® product and add-ins, as well as hints for searching.
What's New Describes new and changed functionality added in recent releases.

Click > What's New > HTML.
Interactive What's New Highlights new features in the SOLIDWORKS product and add-ins.

To enable the interactive What's New, click > What's New > Interactive.

To view the interactive What's New, click next to new or changed menu items and PropertyManagers.
SOLIDWORKS Tutorials

Steps you through introductory to advanced examples that teach the functionality of SOLIDWORKS.

Click Help > Tutorials.
SOLIDWORKS Administration Guides Access administration documents by release and language. See SOLIDWORKS Administration Guides.
Release Notes Describes technical requirements, known issues, and late-breaking documentation changes.

Click > Release Notes.

Getting Started

To open a new or existing model:

Click New or Open on the menu bar.

To access the SOLIDWORKS menus:

Hover over the SOLIDWORKS logo in the menu bar.

To learn the main elements of the user interface:

See User Interface Overview.

To access Quick Tours:

 In the Welcome dialog box, on the Learn tab, 3DEXPERIENCE users can click Quick Tours to enable interactive lessons to learn the basics about working with SOLIDWORKS and interacting with the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. See Quick Tours.

Accessing Resources

In the Welcome dialog box, on the Home tab, you can access the following resources:

  • What's New
  • User Forum
  • News & Info
  • MySolidWorks
  • User Groups
  • Get Support

You can open the Welcome dialog box by clicking Welcome to SOLIDWORKS (Standard toolbar).
