Mesh Type
Solid mesh and Beam mesh.
Meshing Parameters
Use a Global Size of 25 in for Solid mesh.
Material Properties
Modulus of elasticity = 1 X 1011 psi, Poisson's ratio = 0.3.
Results
The following analytical solutions are used to calculate displacements and rotations at the free end: δ (displacement) = PL3/3EI, φ (rotation) = PL2/2EI.
Where P is the value of the applied force, E is the cantilever's modulus of elasticity, and I is the moment of inertia of the beam cross section.
