Description
Determine the vertical deflections across the midspan of a shell roof under its own weight. Dimensions and boundary conditions are shown in the figure below. The radius of curvature of the shell is R = 25 ft.

Material Properties
Modulus of elasticity = 3 X 106 psi, Poisson's ratio = 0, Density = 0.2083 lbs/in3.
Modeling Hints
Due to symmetry, a quarter of the shell is considered for modeling. The shell weight is applied as a gravity loading.
