This section includes a collection of benchmarks published in
various NAFEMS references.
NAFEMS is the International Association for the Engineering Modeling, Analysis,
and Simulation Community. One of the missions of NAFEMS is to develop practical
applications of numerical simulation techniques, such as the Finite Element Method for
Structural Analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics, and Multibody Simulation.
The NAFEMS benchmark models in this guide cover the major analysis modules of
the SOLIDWORKS Simulation product (Linear Static, Nonlinear Materials, Large
Displacement, Thermal Analysis, Free and Forced Vibrations, and Composite Materials).
These benchmarks validate the accuracy of the supported analysis modules and element
types.
The SOLIDWORKS Simulation sample models replicate the exact geometry, material
definitions, loading, and testing conditions from the reference NAFEMS publication. The
SOLIDWORKS Simulation results are accurate. For most benchmarks, the observed difference
from the reference solution is within a 2% limit.
