Applying a Nonuniform Force

  1. Right-click the External Loads folder of the Partial-NonuniformForce study and select Force .
  2. In the PropertyManager on the Type tab under Force/Torque:
    1. Click Force and select Normal.
      The bearing load acts along the radial direction.
    2. Click inside the Faces, and Shell Edges for Normal Force box , then click the lower face of the central hole.
  3. Under Unit , select English (IPS).
  4. For Force Value , type 891.268 and clear Reverse direction so the 891.268 lb force points radially outward.
  5. Check Nonuniform Distribution and do the following:
    1. Click in Select a Coordinate System , then select Coordinate System1 in the flyout FeatureManager design tree.
    2. Click Edit Equation. In the equation box type 1.3333*"y". and click .
  6. Click .
