You define the factor of safety as a constraint to monitor and the
maximum resultant displacement as a constraint not to exceed a certain value.
-
In the Constraints section, from the Click here to add Constraints list, select the sensor named Frame Displacement.
You need to define sensors to use them as constraints or goals in a Design Study. The sensor tracks the maximum value of the resultant displacement in the model.
- For Frame Displacement, select Is less than, for Max type 1.0mm, and for study, select Partial.
- In the Constraints section, select the FOS sensor.
The sensor tracks the minimum value of the factor of safety in the model.
-
For FOS, select Monitor Only and for study, select Partial.
You monitor the value of the sensor without imposing any restrictions. You might encounter unrealistic stress concentrations in the result. For example, when you apply a load to the seat tube, the stress values near the seat tube region may be too high.
