Defining Time-Dependent Heat Power Condition

The heat power starts from a zero value at t = 0 and reaches a maximum value of 0.2 W after about 60 seconds.

The time variation of the heat power is defined in a data curve file (HeatPower_time_curve.cwcur) located in drive letter:\Users\Public\Public Documents\SOLIDWORKS\SOLIDWORKS version\samples\Simulation Examples\Thermal.

To add the function curve:

Click Simulation > Options.
On the System Options tab, select Default Library.
Select Function curve library in Show folders for.
Click Add and browse to drive letter:\Users\Public\Public Documents\SOLIDWORKS\SOLIDWORKS version\samples\Simulation Examples\Thermal.
Click OK twice.
