Listing the Bolt Forces

Due to the model symmetry, the forces in Bolt 1 and Bolt 4 (upper row) are equal and so are the forces in Bolt 2 and Bolt 3 (bottom row).

1. In the Simulation study tree, right-click the Results folder and select List Connector Force .
2. In the PropertyManager under Selection:
   1. Select Bolt Connector-1 in Connector .
   2. Select English (IPS) in Units.
   The dialog box lists the Shear Force, the Axial Force, and the Bending Moment in the selected bolt.

   The resultant forces are approximately:

   • Shear Force: 137.56 lbs
   • Axial Force: 723.82 lbs
   • Bending moment: 62.97 lb-in

   Select a row of the table that lists a connector's forces to highlight the corresponding connector in the graphics area.
3. Select Bolt Connector-4 in Connector .
   The resultant forces are approximately:

   • Shear Force: 137.8 lbs
   • Axial Force: 721.1 lbs
   • Bending moment: 63.12 lb-in
