Opening the Frame Part

You open the bicycle frame part and examine the material properties and external loads defined in the Partial study.

  1. Browse to drive letter:\Users\Public\Public Documents\SOLIDWORKS\SOLIDWORKS version\samples\Simulation Examples\BikeFrame.SLDPRT and open the file.
  2. Examine the defined studies:

    Ready

Links the associated parameters to material properties of tubes and applied loads. By default, the material properties represent aluminum and the loading condition represents the case when the rider sits on the bicycle.

    Partial

You need to link parameters to material properties of tubes and applied loads. You can then use these parameters as variables in the Design Evaluation Study.

    DE-Ready

The Design Study completely defines the required scenarios, variables, and constraints. It runs the Ready study for each scenario to track the results for resultant displacement and factor of safety.

    Design Evaluation

The Design Study defines the required scenarios completely. It defines seven of the nine required variables but no constraints. You define the remaining two variables and the two constraints. You set up the study to run the Partial study for each scenario to track the results.
