Examples\Fatigue\VehicleSuspension.SLDASM and open the
file.
- Click the Ready_Static study tab and examine the connectors, fixtures, and loads. Observe the following:
- All parts of the assembly are assigned Cast Carbon Steel from the SOLIDWORKS material library.
- Four pin connectors and one spring connector connect the
parts:
 |
1) Spring Connector with normal
stiffness 600 lbf/in |
2) 3 pin connectors with no translation
|
3) Pin connector with no
rotation |
- Five fixed hinges are applied to the cylindrical faces:
With a fixed hinge, the radius and the length
of the cylindrical face remain constant under loading. The cylindrical face can only
rotate about its own axis.
- The applied loads to the front hub simulate the transfer of contact
forces when the vehicle turns on a banked curve.
- Mesh controls are applied to fillet faces to refine the mesh at
areas with higher curvature.
