Validating the Design

You now re-examine the factor of safety values for the modified assembly and validate the design.

1. Select the Partial study tab and click Run This Study (Simulation CommandManager).
2. Right-click Results and select Define Factor Of Safety Plot .
3. In the PropertyManager, under Step 1 of 3, select All and for Criterion select Automatic.
4. Click .
5. Under Step 2 of 3, set Multiplication factor to 1 and click .
6. Under Step 3 of 3, select Areas below factor of safety, set Minimum factor of safety to 1 and click .

   

   The image shows that the roof is safe with FOS > 1 as it is highlighted in blue.

7. Rotate the model in the graphics window to verify that all other components are safe.
   

   All components are safe with FOS > 1.
