Setting Properties of the Static Study

Now, you include thermal effects in the static study as follows:

  1. In the Simulation study tree, right-click ThermalStress and select Properties.
  2. In the dialog box on the Options tab, under Solver select Automatic.
  3. On the Flow/Thermal Effects tab, under Thermal options:
    1. Select Temperatures from thermal study.
    2. Select Ready-Transient in Thermal study.
    3. Set Time step to 15.
    4. Select Kelvin and type 300 in Reference temperature at zero strain.
The software uses the temperature profile at the 15th time step of the Transient study to compute thermal stresses.
  4. Click OK.
