Applying a Directional Force You apply a 200 lb force on the face of the front pedal. In the Simulation study tree, right-click External Loads and select Force . The Force/Torque PropertyManager appears. On the Type tab under Force/Torque: Click Force . Click inside the Faces and Shell Edges for Normal Force box , then click the face of the top pin of CrankArm as shown in the figure. Select Selected direction. Click inside the Face, Edge, Plane for Direction box , then select Plane1 of the assembly from the flyout FeatureManager design tree. Under Units , select English (IPS). Under Force: Click Along Plane Dir 1 . Type 200 as the magnitude of the force. Select Reverse direction. Click .The software applies a 200 lb force on the selected face as shown below.
