Applying a Directional Force

You apply a 200 lb force on the face of the front pedal.

  1. In the Simulation study tree, right-click External Loads and select Force .
    The Force/Torque PropertyManager appears.
  2. On the Type tab under Force/Torque:
    1. Click Force .
    2. Click inside the Faces and Shell Edges for Normal Force box , then click the face of the top pin of CrankArm as shown in the figure.
    3. Select Selected direction.
    4. Click inside the Face, Edge, Plane for Direction box , then select Plane1 of the assembly from the flyout FeatureManager design tree.
  3. Under Units , select English (IPS).
  4. Under Force:
    1. Click Along Plane Dir 1 .
    2. Type 200 as the magnitude of the force.
    3. Select Reverse direction.
  5. Click PM_OK.gif.
    The software applies a 200 lb force on the selected face as shown below.
