Applying Remote Force

You apply a remote force of 1000 lb at the back face of the cantilever as shown in the figure.

1. Click the Partial study tab.
2. Right-click the External Loads folder, and select Remote Load/Mass .
3. In the PropertyManager, do the following:
   1. For Faces for Remote Load , select the face shown below.
      
   2. Under Location, for Unit , select in.
   3. For X-Location, Y-Location, and Z-Location, enter 0.5, 0.5, and -20 respectively.
      The remote location coordinates are given with respect to the global coordinate system.
   4. Select Translational Components. For Units , select lbf.
   5. Click Y-Direction for Force. Enter 1000 (lbf) for force, and click Reverse direction.
   6. Click .
