Defining the Plunger As a Pin Connector

You define a pin that connects the plunger and the mounting_bracket components. The pin is free to translate in the axial direction and has a high rotational stiffness.

1. In the Simulation study tree, right-click the Connections folder and select Pin.
2. In the PropertyManager, under Type:
   1. Select the cylindrical face of the plunger for Cylindrical Faces/Edges .
   2. Select the inner cylindrical face of the end extrusion for Cylindrical Faces/Edges .
      
3. Under Type, clear both options.
4. Under Connection Type, select Distributed.
5. Under Options:
   1. Select English (IPS) in Unit .
   2. Make sure that the Axial Stiffness is set to zero.
   3. Type 1e6 for Rotational Stiffness .
6. Click .
