Reassessing the Factor of Safety To view the Factor of Safety plot: In the Simulation study tree, right-click the Results folder and click Define Factor of Safety Plot . In the PropertyManager, under Composite Options, select Tsai-Wu Criterion for Failure criteria for composites. Click . Under Composite Options, select Worst-case across all plies and click . The FOS plot is displayed. The min FOS has increased to ~1 indicating that the joint with the 16-ply composite material is safe under this loading. When composite shells fail for a specific loading, you can change the material properties, ply angles, or increase the number of plies, and rerun the study.
