As seen in the graphs, it is clear that the last geometry change did not accomplish the desired results. Both the weight and the maximum von Mises stress grew as a result of the change. You can restore the model to a previous iteration to return to a model state with better results.
-
Right-click the Trend Tracker
folder and select Restore Model to Iteration.
- In the dialog box, select Iteration 5 and click OK.
- Click Yes when prompted to delete all the later iterations.
The model returns to the state where the diameter of the hole is 42 mm.
- In the Simulation study tree, right-click Trend Journal
in the Trend Tracker
folder and select Open.
- Scroll to the bottom of the document.
Notice the total weight is approximately 98% of the original weight and that the von Mises stress, URES displacement, and P1 1st principal stress are approximately 68%, 89%, and 76%, respectively.
- Close the document.
Congratulations! You have completed this lesson.
