Defining the Animation Positions

Next, you move the position of the plunger handle at 5 seconds.

  1. Locate arm left in the MotionManager tree.
  2. Drag the time bar to 5 seconds.
You move the time bar before you set the animation position because the component key points along the timeline define the component position at a given time. If you set a component position at a key point without moving the time bar, the position corresponds to the time bar time, and not the key point time.
  3. In the graphics area, drag the arm left.sldprt component to a vertical position.

A new key point and changebar for the arm left component appears along the arm left timeline at 5 seconds.

If a new keypoint does not appear, verify that Autokey (MotionManager toolbar) is selected, then repeat step 3.
  4. Click Calculate (MotionManager toolbar).
The software calculates the animation and displays it in the graphics area.

Your animation runs in a loop if the loop or reciprocate playback modes are selected. You can select the normal playback mode to run the animation one time without looping.

To set normal playback, click the Playback Mode flyout (MotionManager Toolbar) and click Playback Mode: Normal .
