Creating the Base

When you relate features to the origin and the planes, you need fewer dimensions and construction entities, and you can more easily modify the part.

1. Click New on the Standard toolbar and open a new part.
2. Click Extruded Boss/Base on the Features tab and open a sketch on the Front plane.
3. Click Centerpoint Arc on the Sketch tab.
4. Click the origin, release the pointer, and move the pointer downward.
   A circumference guideline appears.

   

5. Click and use inferencing to drag an arc 180° counterclockwise around the origin.
   
   
   

   You can set the angle to 180° in the PropertyManager, if necessary.
6. Click Midpoint Line on the Sketch tab.
7. Click the origin and then click one of the endpoints of the arc.
   
   
   
8. In the PropertyManager, click .
9. Dimension the arc radius to 15mm.
