Creating a Sub-Weldment

You can group related entities together into sub-weldments. Create a sub-weldment for the back of the box, to group the four structural member segments and four end caps.

  1. In the FeatureManager design tree, expand the Cut list .
  2. Expand the following subfolders:
    • TUBE, SQUARE 30 X 30 X 2.60<4>(2)

Contains End cap2[4] and End cap2[3]

    • TUBE, SQUARE 30 X 30 X 2.60<5>(2)

      Contains Trim/Extend4[1] and Trim/Extend2[2]

    • Cut-List-Item9(4)

Contains the other four end caps

  3. Press Ctrl and select:
    1. Trim/Extend4[1] and TrimExtend2[2].
    2. All the end cap items.
The numbers specified in your cutlist may differ from the numbers in these instructions. If your numbers differ, make sure you select the cut list items that make up the back of the box, as shown in the image below.

The selected entities are highlighted in the graphics area.

  4. Right-click and select Create Sub-Weldment.
Under Cut list(31) , a new cut list item folder, Cut-List-Item12(8) appears. It contains a subfolder named Sub-weldment1(8). The sub-weldment folder contains the selected entities. The (8) after Sub-weldment1 indicates the number of entities in the sub-weldment.
