Opening Legacy Studies

You can import plastics studies created in SOLIDWORKS Plastics 2020 in SOLIDWORKS Plastics 2021 and modify them as usual.

Legacy Studies from SOLIDWORKS Plastics 2019 and Earlier Releases
Plastics studies you create in SOLIDWORKS Plastics 2019 or earlier releases are read-only. After you import a legacy study into SOLIDWORKS Plastics 2021, all nodes in the PlasticsManager tree are inactive, except for Results and Display Setup. You can use the active nodes to view the analysis results and interact with post-processing features, such as results export and report creation.

Legacy Studies from SOLIDWORKS Plastics 2020
You can import plastics studies created in SOLIDWORKS Plastics 2020 in SOLIDWORKS Plastics 2021 and modify them as usual.

To create a new study after opening a legacy study, you must first add a new configuration using the Configuration Manager .

Search 'Opening Legacy Studies' in the SOLIDWORKS Knowledge Base.
