The Simulation Type PropertyManager
displays the available
analysis
modules - Fill, Pack, Warp, and Cool - for the active plastics
study.
To open the Simulation
Type PropertyManager, do one of the following:
- In the SOLIDWORKS Plastics CommandManager, click Simulation Type
.
- In the PlasticsManager, double-click Simulation Type
.
Type
Cool Simulation
|
A cool analysis performs heat
transfer analysis to obtain the transient temperature distribution
occurring within the mold during the injection molding cycle. The
Cool analysis module is available with the SOLIDWORKS Plastics
Premium license only.
Select Cool
Simulation to access the underlying features and
boundary conditions related to the cool analysis.
|
Fill Simulation
|
A fill analysis predicts how molten plastic material
fills a cavity. It accounts for heat transfer between the material
and mold during filling, and predicts the changes to viscosity as
the material begins to solidify. Fill Simulation is selected by
default.
|
Pack Simulation
|
A pack analysis simulates the
process where an injection machine applies pressure to the injection
system to cause additional material to enter the cavity as the part
shrinks and freezes. Pack Simulation is
selected by default for the SOLIDWORKS Plastics Professional and
SOLIDWORKS Plastics Premium licenses.
|
Warp Simulation
|
A warp analysis predicts the final
shape and dimensions of the part, as well as the de-molding residual
stresses, after the part has fully cooled. The Warp analysis
module is available with the SOLIDWORKS Plastics Premium license
only.
Select Warp Simulation to
access the underlying features and boundary conditions related
to the warp analysis.
