Editing Drawing Frames and Title Blocks

At any state of the design process, you can edit Drawing Frames and Title Blocks in both Model and Sheet modes.

You can specify or change the active standard in the Toolbox- Standards dialog box. All available standards provide a set of Frames and Title Blocks. You can change the following settings:

  • The Frame size, the paper format, and the Title Block according to the selected standard.
  • The scale - at any moment, you can rescale the Frame and the Title Block.

Note: There is no link between the Title Block and the Frame. You can delete them separately.

  1. To modify the Frame and the Title Block:
    1. Do one of the following:
      • On the ribbon, click Mechanical Annotate > Frame > Edit.
      • On the menu, click Mechanical Annotate > Frame > Edit.
      • Type AM_EditFrame.
    2. In the graphics area, specify the Frame.
    3. In the Toolbox - Frame and Title Block dialog box, select another Frame and Title Block.

      Note: If you want to use a Frame and a Title Block from another standard, select Show all standards.

    4. Under Scale, do the settings:
      • Use default scale list. Lets you use custom scales, such as 1:4, 1:2.Note: You can add new custom scales from the Options dialog box, on the System Options page.
      • Perform rescale. Adjusts Text entities and Dimensions according to the new scale factor. Specify the entities to rescale.
    5. Click OK.

      The Frame and Title Block is modified.

    6. If you selected the Perform rescale option, select the Text entities and Dimensions to rescale and press Enter.
  2. To edit the values in the Title Block:
    1. Do one of the following:
      • On the ribbon, click Mechanical Annotate > Frame > Edit.
      • On the menu, click Mechanical Annotate > Frame > Edit.
      • Type AM_EditFrame.
    2. In the graphics area, specify the Title Block.
    3. In the Edit BlockAttribute Values dialog box, modify the values.
    4. Click OK.
  3. To edit BlockAttribute properties:
    1. In the graphics area, double-click the Title Block.
    2. In the Advanced Attribute Edit dialog box, click Show Properties. The dialog box expands with a new panel.
    3. In the Attribute list, specify the attribute for which you want to change the properties.
    4. Modify the BlockAttribute properties and text options.
    5. Repeat steps c and d as needed.

Command: AM_EDITFRAME

Menu: Mechanical Annotate > Frame > Edit

Ribbon: Mechanical Annotate > Frame > Edit
