Example: Editing a Hex Bolt in a Custom Standard
This example describes how to modify the name and default length of a hex bolt in a custom standard named Custom ANSI Inch.
This procedure assumes that the Custom ANSI Inch standard has already been created as a copy of the ANSI Inch standard.
- Do one of the following:
- On the ribbon, click Mechanical Content > Manage > Standards.
- On the Mechanical toolbar, click Standards
.
- On the menu, click Mechanical Content > Standards.
- In the Toolbox - Standards dialog box, under Custom standards, select a standard and click Edit.
- In the Toolbox - Table Editor, expand Custom ANSI Inch > HARDWARE > BOLTS > Hex Bolt.
- To modify how the hex bolt name appears in the Toolbox - Hardware dialog box:
- In Related Standard, type ANSI Inch.
- In the right pane, in Description Format, click
.
- In the Toolbox - Edit Description Format dialog box, under Available fields, select Related Standard and click Add to Description Format.
In the Description Format field, %Related Standard
is added at the end of the description.
- Click OK.
- To modify the default length of the hex bolt:
- In the left pane, under Hex Bolt, click Lengths.
- In the right pane, in the first row of the data table, change the value in the Length column.
- Click Close.
- Click Close to close the Toolbox - Standards dialog box.
To see the effect:
- On the ribbon, click Mechanical Content > Hardware > Insert.
- In the Toolbox - Hardware dialog box, in the left side, click Bolts and Screws.
