Part Reference Dialog Box

The Part Reference / Edit Part Reference dialog box lets you enter and edit part list-related information for the part associated with a Part Reference.

The dialog box appears, when you use the following commands:

You can customize the properties that are shown in the dialog box.

Part Reference Dialog Box Elements

Component Properties

In the Component Properties list, you can enter or edit the specific data for a variety of properties that should appear in BOMs.

By default the list displays the properties Name, Material, Vendor, Note, Measurement, and Units.

Quantity

Lets you specify the quantity for the part as shown in the BOM. The default quantity is 1.

Exclude from Parts List

Excludes the component from all parts lists. Additionally, you cannot create balloons for this component. The component remains in the BOM.

Connect

Lets you connect the part reference to a block that you specify in the graphics area. You can use the Connect option only for part references created using the Block option.

Disconnect

Lets you disconnect the part reference from a block that you specify in the graphics area. You can use the Disconnect option only for part references created using the Block option.

Customize

Displays the BOM Settings dialog box where you can specify what component properties to display in the Part Reference dialog box and BOM.

To add a new component property:

  1. In the Part Reference dialog box, click Customize.

    In the BOM Settings dialog box, the Component Properties tab lists the component properties properties from the Part Reference dialog box.

  2. In the Available component properties list, select the line corresponding to the property to add and click Add to.

    The property appears in the Component Properties list.

  3. Click OK.

    The property appears in the Component Properties list on the Part Reference dialog box.

Access

Command: AM_PartReference

Menu: Mechanical Annotate > BOM > Create Part Reference

Ribbon: Mechanical Annotate > BOM > Part Reference > Create
