Mechanical Settings Dialog Box: Snaps

Use the Snaps category of the Settings dialog box to manage and control Mechanical Snap Configurations.

Mechanical Snap Configurations include frequently used custom settings for EntitySnaps (ESnaps), EntityTracking (ETracks), Snap Grid,  and Polar Guides.

To access Mechanical Snap Configurations:

Do one of the following:

  • Click Mechanical Content > Manage > Settings, then click Snaps.
  • Type AM_MechanicalSnap.

To define Mechanical Snap Configurations:

  1. From the Mechanical Snap Configuration drop-down list, select the current settings or one of four global settings (from Settings1 to Settings4) to set up the configurations.
  2. On the dialog box tabs, adjust your settings for ESnaps, ETracks, Snaps, and Polar Guides.
  3. Click Apply.
  4. Repeat steps 1 to 4 as needed for other Mechanical Snap Configurations.
  5. Click OK.

To restore Mechanical Snap Configurations:

  • Use the following commands to restore associated configurations for subsequent drafting:
    • AM_EntitySnap1 activates the settings from Settings1.
    • AM_EntitySnap2 activates the settings from Settings2.
    • AM_EntitySnap3 activates the settings from Settings3.
    • AM_EntitySnap4 activates the settings from Settings4.

The Entity Snaps & Tracking tab lets you control EntitySnap and EntityTracking options.

Snap Grid Settings

The Snap tab lets you control snap grid options.

Polar Guide Settings

Use the Polar Guides tab to draw at exact angles and fixed intervals, starting from 3 o'clock (or East) and at additional angle increments.
