Adding Hole Callouts

  1. Click Hole Callout (Mechanical Toolbox toolbar) or Mechanical Toolbox > Holes > Callout.
  2. To specify callout settings such as text callout type and text style, in the Command window, type Settings and press Enter.
    The Toolbox - Settings dialog box opens to the Hole Callout screen of the Annotations section.
  3. Under General:
    1. Select the Callout type:
      • Symbols: Displays callout dimensions in a geometric format in accordance with ANSI standards.
      • Traditional: Displays callout dimensions in a textual format.
    2. Select Count holes to preface the callout with the number of holes that exactly match the hole you are dimensioning.
    3. If you selected Traditional as the callout type, click Description to append a description of the hole to the callout.
    4. To add Ø before the DRILL and CBORE dimensions in the callout, click Add Ø.
    5. To change layer preferences, click Change.
  4. Under Text:
    1. Select the Text style from a list of text styles you have defined in DraftSight.
    2. For Size, type the font size.
    3. In Decimal places, specify the precision of the calculations.
    4. Select whether to display Leading zeros and Trailing zeros.
  5. Click OK.
  6. In the graphics area, select the hole to dimension.
  7. Click once to specify the start of the dimension leader and a second time to place the dimension.
  8. Repeat steps 7 and 8 to dimension additional holes, or press Esc to stop adding callouts.
