-Parameters

Use the -Parameters command create and edit Constraint expressions and values.

It is the command window variant of the Parameters command.

The command lists:

  • Names of the Dimensional Constraints
  • Expressions, in which you can use:
    • Values
    • User-defined variables, and variables that represent existing Dimensional Constraints
    • Mathematical operators, functions, and constants
  • Values that result from the expression

For detailed information about using expressions and variables, see Defining Dimensional Constraints Parameters.

The command provides the following options:

  • ?: Displays all user-defined variables.
  • Delete: Deletes the specified user-defined parameter.
  • Edit: Changes the expression of a specified user-defined parameter.
  • New: Creates a new user-defined parameter.
  • Rename: Renames the specified user-defined parameter.

To list all Dimensional Constraints or user-defined variables:

  1. Type -Parameters at the command prompt.
  2. Type ? to display all user-defined variables.

To create user-defined variables:

  1. Type -Parameters at the command prompt.
  2. Type New and press Enter.
  3. Type the name of the new parameter.
  4. Type the expression for the new parameter.

To delete Dimensional Constraints or user variables:

  1. Type -Parameters at the command prompt.
  2. Type Delete and press Enter.
  3. Specify the name of the parameter to delete.
  4. If the variable is referenced by a Dimensional Constraint in the drawing or in an expression, you are prompted to confirm deletion.

To rename Dimensional Constraints or user variables:

  1. Type -Parameters at the command prompt.
  2. Type Rename and press Enter.
  3. Type the name of the parameter to rename.
  4. Type the new name of the parameter.

To edit expressions of a Dimensional Constraints or user variables:

  1. Type -Parameters at the command prompt.
  2. Type the name of the parameter for which you want to edit the expression.
  3. Type Edit and press Enter.

The existing expression and its value is displayed.

  4. Specify the new expression with operators, functions, variables and values.
