Changing the Cycling Order of Insertion Point

Use the CBCycleOrder command to specify the cycling order for the grip points that you can use as insertion point of a CustomBlock reference.

The Base Point Cycling dialog box displays the list of all grip points from all elements of the CustomBlock definition. You can specify the grip points to use as Block insertion points and their order. When inserting the Block, press the Ctrl key to cycle through the available insertion points.

Note: Insertion points do not override the Basepoint element. The Basepoint element specifies the position of the Block basepoint and does not change during the Block insertion.

To enable the insertion points to display in the reference:

  1. Open the Block in the Block Editor.
  2. Add the point elements to use as grip points.

Note: The grip points do not override the base point element.

  3. Type CBCycleOrder at the command prompt.
  4. In the Base Point Cycling dialog box, specify a grip point from the Grip cycling list and click Cycling to turn the cycling on or off.

A checkmark indicates the grip points for which the cycling is turned on. These grip points are potential insertion points.

  5. Optionally, change the order in the list using the following buttons:
    • Move Up. Move the selected item up in the list.
    • Move Down. Move the selected item down in the list.
  6. Click OK.

To change the insertion point at Block insertion:

  1. Click Insert > Block (or type InsertBlock).
  2. In the dialog box, in Name, select a CustomBlock. Click Browse to locate an external drawing.

Note: The sign in the lower right corner of the preview area identifies the Block:

       Dynamic Block

    CB CustomBlock

  3. Under Position, for X, Y, and Z, specify coordinate values, or select Specify later to specify the insertion point on screen after the dialog box closes.
  4. Click OK.

In the graphics area, the block apears attached to the mouse cursor.

  5. Press Ctrl to cycle through the available insertion points. You can see a preview of the result for each selected insertion point.
  6. Click a point to place the Block.
