Using Hatches with Tool Palettes
You can create tools from hatches and add them on a separate tool palette. For example, you can group the tools for frequently used hatches.
Once you have the hatches on the Tool Palettes, you can drag them into the graphics area whenever it is necessary.
To add a tool based on an existing hatch:
Note: Before starting, make sure the Tool Palette is displayed.
- Create the hatch from which to create the tool.
For example, create a hatch with a 45° angle and a 0.25 scale.
- On the Tool Palette, display the palette on which to place the tool. If necessary, create a new palette.
- In the graphics area, select the hatch from which to create the tool.
- Hold down the left mouse button and drag the hatch onto the palette.
The tool for creating hatches appears on the Tool Palette.
- Rename the new tool to distinguish it from other similar hatches.
- On the palette toolbar, click Save all
.
To use the new tool, on the Tool Palette, click the new hatch tool and specify a point within a closed boundary.
You can change the properties of the hatch tool. Right-click on the tool and select Properties from the context menu. The thumbnail reflects the changes.
To modify the hatch pattern for a hatch tool:
- In the Tool Properties dialog box, click on More options
next to the Pattern name field.
- In the Select Pattern Style dialog box, choose a style from the available sets.
- Click OK.
The thumbnail reflects the new hatch pattern.
