You
can
use
the SMTP Settings tab to configure the SMTP server used by
SOLIDWORKS PDM to send notifications.
The SMTP Settings tab is only
available when SMTP is selected from the General tab.
To display the Message
System dialog box:
Double-click Message System.
Server
|
The name or IP address of a valid
SMTP server available on the network that can relay SMTP-generated messages. |
Port |
The SMTP server port number,
typically 25. |
Login
required |
If the SMTP server requires a login
to relay messages, select this option and enter a user name and password. |
EnableSSL |
Enables SSL or TLS
authentication. It
is a two-way authentication along with the login
credentials. |
User |
(Active only if Login required is selected.) |
Password |
(Active only if Login required is selected.) |
From
Address |
The reply email address used for
automatically generated notifications. |
From
Name |
The sender name used for
automatically generated notifications. |
Send test
mail |
Click Test
Settings to display the Test
Settings dialog box to send an email to test the SMTP settings. |
For SSL the following SMTP servers are supported:

The field values, for example for the Gmail®l server:
- Server: smtp.gmail.com
- Port: 587 (TLS required)
- User: Your full Gmail address (e.g., example@gmail.com)
- Password: Your Gmail® password
Generate
the password value with .
- From Address: Correct Gmail® address
