Managing Toolbox Settings in the Collaborative Space Configuration Center

Platform administrators manage Toolbox settings in the Collaborative Space Configuration Center. The software stores components only in public collaborative spaces like the Common Space, not in private, or protected spaces, to keep access consistent for all CAD designers. Standard Libraries Management provides options for configuring these settings and troubleshooting issues.

When setting up Toolbox, platform administrators can:
  • Choose where to store Toolbox components.
    • The list shows only public collaborative spaces, like Common Space.
    • Private and protected spaces do not appear because of access restrictions.
  • Set the maturity state of Toolbox components.
    • By default, components are Released (standard and non-modifiable).
    • Platform administrators can adjust the state to apply specific 3DEXPERIENCE attributes.
These settings keep the Toolbox library consistent and centrally managed, ensuring all CAD designers use the same components.

Why Public Collaborative Spaces?

Private and protected collaborative spaces are not available for Toolbox settings by design. The 3DEXPERIENCE platform is set up this way to keep standard libraries accessible to all users. According to the installation and setup guidelines, Toolbox components belong in public collaborative spaces to ensure that everyone can use them.

Configuring Toolbox Settings

  1. Log in to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform as an Administrator and open the Collaborative Space Configuration Center.
  2. Go to Standard Libraries Management.
  3. Open Toolbox settings and select a collaborative space.
  4. Choose from the available public spaces, such as Common Space.
  5. Optional. Change the maturity state of Toolbox components. The default state is Released.
