Add Files Using Copy of Windows Explorer

You can add files into the local work folder, using the Copy-Paste command of windows.

  1. Right-click a file and select Copy.
  2. Browse to the local work folder, right-click, and select Paste.
The file is added into the local work folder. If the Enforce auto-naming option is selected in the Options dialog box, the file name is auto computed.
    • You can drag a file from the local folder and drop into the local work folder to create the same file.
    • Files copied/dragged from the local folder and pasted/dropped to the local work folder are considered as local copies. Hence, you must open these files in SOLIDWORKS and save to 3DEXPERIENCE.
    • Files within the local work folder can be copy-pasted to a subfolder within the local work folder, but these files are considered local copies even if a 3DEXPERIENCE file is copied.
