Adding Bookmarks for SOLIDWORKS File Locations

Instead of locating SOLIDWORKS resources in Windows folders, 3DEXPERIENCE users can upload and manage them as documents in the Bookmark Editor.

You and your team can upload and bookmark documents on the platform for all SOLIDWORKS users to share. For example, you can place sheet formats in one bookmark and BOM templates in another.

All File Locations support bookmarks except for the following:
  • Document Templates
  • Referenced Documents
  • Materials Databases
  • Inspection Default Export Folder

To add bookmarks for SOLIDWORKS File Locations:

  1. Click Tools > Options > System Options > File Locations.
  2. In the dialog box, under Show folders for, select an item from the menu.
  3. Click Add to open the Select Folder dialog box.
  4. Click Select from 3DEXPERIENCE to open a Bookmark Chooser.
  5. Select the bookmark to download.
    The bookmark appears in the File Locations dialog box and the content downloads to a local folder.

    The Select from 3DEXPERIENCE option appears only for File Locations that support bookmarks.
