Creating Envelopes for a Subassembly

To create envelopes for a subassembly:

  1. Open a model that contains a subassembly.
  2. Click Tools > Envelope Publisher .

    If Envelope Publisher is not available, check the External References system options:

    1. Click Tools > Options > System Options > External References.
    2. Under Assemblies, select:
      • Allow creation of references external to the model
      • Any component for Reference component type
      • Top level assembly for In the context of
  3. In the Envelope Publisher PropertyManager, for Components to use as envelopes , select the components to use as reference components in the subassembly.
  4. For Destination subassemblies , select the subassembly to use as the destination.
  5. Optional: Change the envelope group name from the default name of Envelope Group1.
  6. Click Add group, and click .
  7. In the FeatureManager® design tree, right-click the destination subassembly and click Open subassembly.SLDASM .
  8. Optional: If prompted, click Rebuild.

    You can work with the envelope components in the subassembly.
