Merging Duplicate Files

You can merge duplicate files in models before saving the models to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to prevent potential issues.

To merge duplicate files

:
  1. In SOLIDWORKS, click Tools > File Preparation Assistant.
  2. Populate the fields.
  3. Select Find duplicate files and prompt to merge.
The Merge Duplicates dialog box opens when SOLIDWORKS finds duplicate files.

In the dialog box, Duplicate lists the number of duplicates for a file. Merged Results lists the number of files after SOLIDWORKS completes a merge.

  4. Select a row and click Fix duplicates.
  5. Under Master, select a master file.
  6. To merge duplicate files in to the master file, select Replace with Master for the duplicate file.
Replace with Master deletes the file.

If you do not select Replace with Master for the duplicate files, SOLIDWORKS assigns a new file name.

  7. Click Apply.
  8. Click Done.
