You can update the selected revision in a session with the latest version
that exists in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform using
the
Reload from
Server
command.
Ensure that you have SOLIDWORKS objects (part, assembly, drawing) in the
3DEXPERIENCE platform.
-
Select a SOLIDWORKS object in
the MySession widget.
-
To update the SOLIDWORKS object, do one of the following:
- From the Lifecycle section of the action bar, click Reload from Server.
- Right-click the object and select Reload from Server.
- When you use Reload from
Server on a modified object, a warning appears to
confirm the overwriting of those modifications.
- When you use Reload from
Server on an object having links to locally modified
objects, a message appears informing that local modifications are
preserved.
When you open an
xDesign part in SOLIDWORKS, a
.sldprt
file is generated from the
.sldxml
file
associated with its 3DEXPERIENCE
component.
The
.sldprt
file
is reloaded and rebuilt from the
.sldxml
file
only if the 3DEXPERIENCE component is modified.
-
From the Reload dialog box, choose one of the reload options.
Command Name |
Description |
Reload selected file only |
Reloads only the selected object but not
its references. |
Reload references only |
Reloads only the references of the
selected object. |
Reload file and references |
Reloads both the
selected
object and all its references. |
For parts created using the Make Multibody Part command in
SOLIDWORKS, only the selected part is reloaded and there is no impact on
the referenced assembly. Hence, the Reload dialog
box is not displayed. If there exists a different revision for the
referenced assembly, then a warning is displayed informing that on using
the Reload from Server command the derived part
will reference to another assembly.
-
If the selected object includes files whose local copies are different from the
ones on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, a confirmation dialog box appears. You
can choose to overwrite the local copies or reload the files without
overwriting.
Option |
Description |
Yes |
Overwrites all the locally modified files and downloads the missing
references. |
No |
Does not overwrite or download the locally modified files. |
The object receives the modified, missing, or new files from the 3DEXPERIENCE
platform and a reload successful notification appears.
