Spools PropertyManager

You can use the Spool PropertyManager to define spools uniquely by name and color, and associate adjacent components. You can only define one spool at a time.

To open the PropertyManager, do one of the following:
  • Click Define Spools (Piping toolbar or Flexible Tubing toolbar)
  • Click Tools > Routing > Piping > Spools.
  • Click Tools > Routing > Flexible Tubing > Spools.

To keep the PropertyManager open, click Pin at the top of the dialog box. The PropertyManager remains open until you unpin it.

You can predefine spool properties in Options (Standard toolbar) or Tools > Options.

Spool Settings

Spool Name Assigns Spool-001 to the first spool and increments the number for subsequent spools. You can specify a new name or change the naming convention in Routing Options.
  Spool Segments

Displays the entities that make up a spool. To define a new color, click the box and choose a new color from the color palette.

Route segments can be noncontiguous, and can end at a flanged connection or a welded, threaded connection.

Spool Components Displays components belonging to the spool. These components can consist of tees, elbows, o-lets, pipes with penetration points, supports, hangers, and other parts that connect to the spool in the manufacturing process.
Adjoining Components Displays the entities that adjoin the spool. To define a new color, click the box and choose a new color from the color palette. You can also modify the color in Routing Options.
