Publish to STEP242 PropertyManager

You can use this PropertyManager to specify details to export parts or assemblies to the STEP 242 format.

When you click File > Share to share a file to 3DDrive as the STEP242 file type, the PropertyManager name is Publish to STEP242 on 3DDrive.

To open the Publish to STEP242 PropertyManager, do one of the following:

  • In a part or assembly, click Publish STEP 242 File (MBD toolbar).
  • For 3DEXPERIENCE users. Enable the MBD add-in. In a part or assembly, click File > Share. In the dialog box, click Share File, under File type select STEP AP242 (*.step;*stp), and under Custom Properties click Edit. For more information, see Sharing Files on 3DDrive.

Custom Properties

Specifies the model's custom properties to export to the STEP 242 format.

Split periodic faces		 Splits periodic faces, such as cylindrical faces, into two.

Splitting a periodic face can improve the quality of the export but can affect performance.


Export face/edge properties		 Exports face and edge properties. It retains important information about your model's geometry.

Clear this option to improve export performance.
