With the Denoiser, you can achieve significant reductions in render
time for production-quality images.
The Denoiser uses a post-processing technique based on machine learning
to filter out noise from unfinished and noisy images produced with Fast and Accurate render modes.
To maximize performance with the Denoiser, reduce the number of render
passes. For example, if a scene typically requires 500 passes without the Denoiser,
setting it to 50 passes with the Denoiser enabled may achieve similar quality. Depending
on your image quality goals, you may need even fewer passes. The actual reduction in
passes and render time depends on your computer hardware and the complexity of the
scene.
If you use offline or live distributed rendering, Visualize Boost
supports the Denoiser. See SOLIDWORKS
Visualize Boost.
The Denoiser requirements depend on the render mode and render
device:
- 3DS Stellar Accurate GPU - Requires at least 4 GB of video
memory. See System Requirements for SOLIDWORKS
Visualize.
- 3DS Stellar Accurate CPU - No additional hardware
requirements.
- 3DS Stellar Fast GPU - If Stellar Fast is available, it always
uses denoising by default..
- AMD ProRender Accurate - Requires at least 4 GB of video
memory.
