Printing Drawings You can print your drawings with the print options you specify. To open Print drawings, do one of the following: Click Electrical Project > Print . Right-click an electrical project and click Print . Right-click a book and click Print to print only the drawings that belong to the book. To specify the selection of drawings to print, do one of the following: To print all drawings in your project, select All. To select specific drawings, do the following: Select Selection. Click Select drawings . From the Selection dialog, select the drawings you want to print.For more information about using the Selection dialog, see Drawing/Folder Selector. To remove a drawing, click Remove from selection . Optional: Select view options: Option Description List mode Displays drawings as text. Thumbnail mode Displays drawings using a thumbnail preview. Configuration Configures the display options for List and Thumbnail views. Optional: To change the display of text and objects, click Drawing style . For more information about editing drawing styles, see Configuring Drawing Style Properties. Optional: To use a preconfigured selection of print options, select a configuration from the Print configuration list. The print options selected in the Print drawings dialog define print configurations. Changing print options changes the current selected print configuration. Clicking either Close or Print saves the current print configuration. Optional: To manage print configurations, do the following: From the Print configuration section, click . . .. From the Print configuration management dialog, you can do any of the following: To create a new print configuration, click New. To duplicate the selected print configuration, click Duplicate. To rename a print configuration, click a print configuration name in the list, and enter the new name. To delete one or more print configurations, click Delete. You can use the Shift and Ctrl keys to select multiple items. From the Name list, select a printer. Optional: To configure additional options for the selected printer using the Windows Document Properties dialog, click Properties. Optional: To specify a printer paper tray, select a tray from the Source list. Optional: To print the drawings in reverse sequence, from last to first, select Invert print order. From the Paper format list, select one of the available paper formats. The selection of paper formats depends on your specific printer model. From the Orientation list, select one of the following: Option Description Portrait Uses a vertical orientation in which the height is greater than the width. Landscape Uses a horizontal orientation in which the width is greater than the height. Optional: To render any symmetrical items in the drawing accurately as symmetrical items in printed output, select Plot with symmetry. From the Scale list, select one of the following scale options: Option Description Fit to format Scales objects in the drawing to fit the selected document size dimensions. (Predefined scales) Scales objects in the drawing to the selected predefined scale ratio. Custom Specifies a custom scale ratio using the specified document units. Optional: To print multiple copies, enter a number in the Number of copies field. Optional: To print multiple copies of the document in order, select Collate. For example, 2 collated copies of a 3-page document would print 1-2-3, 1-2-3 instead of 1-1, 2-2, 3-3. Optional: To configure the drawing view exported to the printed document, select one of the following options: Option Description All geometry Prints all geometry within the bounding box of the drawing. Drawing boundary Prints geometry within the area defined by the Grid zone drawing parameters.For more information about drawing parameters, see Specifying Drawing Parameters. Current view Prints visible geometry within the last-saved view, or within the current view of open drawings. Optional: To use a custom plot style for the printed document, do the following: Select Plot with style. Select a plot style. Optional: To modify the selected plot style, click Modify plot style .For more information about working with plot styles, see Modifying Plot Styles for Printing. Click Print. Select one of the following update actions: Option Description Update drawings Updates all reports, design rules, and terminal strip drawings.
