Configuring the Collaborative Server

The Collaborative Server is a Windows Service that must be running at all times, and have constant, uninterrupted, bidirectional communication with clients through firewalls and virus scanners.

To configure the Collaborative Server in individual or server mode, specify the following parameters:
  • The machine name (for example LOCALHOST or MyMachine), or its IP address (for example 127.0.0.1, or 192.168.255.255).
  • The port number (by default 26666).

You can configure the Collaborative Server during the installation or later in the Tools > Application Settings command.

For client/server installations, to provide uninterrupted bidirectional communication, make sure that port number 26666 is available and open on the machine where the Collaborative Server is installed. If not, ask the system administrator to find another port for SOLIDWORKS Electrical. You need to ensure that incoming connections are allowed on the server machine for SOLIDWORKS Electrical port (26666).
