Splitting a Route

You can split a route and apply different properties on each side of the split. For example, if you want to apply covering to only a portion of a route, you can split the route into two segments and apply covering to only one of the segments.

To split a route:

  1. Do one of the following:
    • Click Split Route Tool_SplitRoute_RoutingTools.gif (Electrical, Piping, Tubing and Routing Tools Toolbars) .
    • While editing the route, right-click a route sketch entity and select Split Route.
  2. While editing the route, right-click a route sketch entity and select Split Route.
The sketch entity splits into two entities, and a split point is added between the two sketch entities. A connection point appears in the FeatureManager design tree under the Route feature. The connection point can be renamed.
