Export Options - NASTRAN

  • Offsets:

    • Node Offset. Sets the node offset. The lowest node label in the generated file will be the specified node offset + 1.

    • Element Offset. Sets the element offset. The lowest element label in the generated file will be the specified element offset + 1.

  • Format:

    • Short Free. Short form, free format.

    • Long Free. Long form, free format

    • Short Fixed. Short form, fixed format.

    • Long Fixed. Long form, fixed format.

  • The drop-down menu sets the units of length to be used in exporting the model.

To export a study to MSC/NASTRAN:

  1. In the Simulation study tree, right-click the icon of the study and select Export.

  2. In the Save As dialog box:

    1. In the Save in field, browse to select a folder.

    2. In the File name field, enter a name for the file.

    3. From the Save as type menu, select NASTRAN files (*.dat).

    4. Click Options.

  3. In the Export Options - NASTRAN dialog box:

  1. Set the Node Offset and Element Offset, the format, and the unit system.

  2. Click OK.

  1. In the Save As dialog box, click Save.
