Creating a Parting Surface

You can create a parting surface, which is extruded from parting lines, to separate the mold cavity from the core.
You must create a parting surface to create a tooling split.
  1. From a mold part file, click Parting Surfaces (Mold Tools toolbar) or Insert > Mold > Parting Surface .
  2. For Parting Line, select a parting line feature or edges of the mold.
  3. For Mold Parameters, select the parting surface definition.
  4. For Parting Surface, select parameters.
  5. Select Options and click .

    The parting surface appears in the Parting Surface Bodies folder, under the Surfaces Bodies folder in the FeatureManager design tree.
